Job description

Refrigeration and Food Service Equipment Mechanic
Department: Ball Park Operations
Location: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, OH
Reports To: Director of Maintenance
FLSA Status: non-exempt
Job Summary
The Refrigeration amp; Food Service Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on commercial refrigeration amp; food service equipment. Additionally, they will be charged with developing and maintaining an equipment inventory, creating and implementing a preventive maintenance schedule, and assisting management with the development of capital purchases.
This position must work extended hours that includes nights, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season. They are also on call for emergency situations that arise.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Minimum five (5) years refrigeration and equipment maintenance and repair experience to include walk-in refrigeration units, reach in refrigerators/freezers, portable warm boxes, beer chillers and cold wells.
Skills: Basic knowledge of other commercial kitchen equipment
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
Education: High School and Trade School Diploma
Experience: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification or Verifiable Host Country Certification and/or license in Freon Recovery/Recycling · OSHA 10 Hour Certification preferred
Skills: Computer literate with Microsoft products Self Starter with ability to multi-task
Primary Job Duties amp; Responsibilities
Duty | % of Time
Maintain, repair, and install refrigeration and food service equipment and use the appropriate gauges, instruments, and tools to test and repair the systems | 25%
Able to reclaim refrigerant, cut, bend, braze, solder, and connect pipe to functional components on refrigeration system | 25%
Perform Preventative Maintenance on all related equipment and record PM on CMMS system | 25%
Knowledgeable and skilled in safe operation of power tools, hand tools, oxygen, and acetylene equipment employed in maintenance and repair, including use of volt meter, amp meter, refrigerant charging gauges, vacuum analyzer, vacuum pump, and refrigerant reclaim equipment | 10%
Perform other general maintenance duties as assigned | 10%
Respond to off-hour emergency calls | 5%
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Director of Maintenance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 75lbs occasionally
- Work is performed primarily in outdoor settings.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 50lbs. on a regular basis.
- Use of standard office equipment (Microsoft Office)
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration; The noise level in the work environment can be quiet to loud.
- Must have a willingness to work long hours and a variable schedule including weekends and holidays especially during the baseball season.
- May work games throughout the season. They will perform general maintenance work during games and may be asked to do so on non-game days.
