Job description

Overview

Assists in the preparation of reports and analytical review of documentation processed for compliance with both federal laws and regulations and Cherokee Nation (CN) policies and procedures while making sure deadlines are met.


Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Associate's degree from 2-year college or technical school in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; or two years (60 credit hours) of coursework from 4-year college or university; or three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least six (6) years of experience in a related field.

COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A driver's license may be required to work in some departments. If so, the applicant/employee must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must have advanced computer and data input skills as well as a 10-key calculator by touch ability. Must possess analytical skills. Must also be knowledgeable in bookkeeping and have the ability to perform transactional analysis and research.

Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS     

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT    

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
