Join Our Team as a Full-Time Family Medicine Physician in our Primary Care Department at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center – Tahlequah, OK

Located on the W.W. Hastings Hospital campus in Tahlequah, the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center opened its doors in October 2019, and is 469,000-square-foot, four-story and the largest outpatient health center operated by the Cherokee Nation, helping the tribe deliver first-class care to citizens.
Practice Overview & Schedule
- Flexible Scheduling: Choose between 8-hour or 10-hour workdays.
- Patient Volume: See 16 to 20 patients per day, depending on whether you work 8- or 10-hour shifts.
- Academic Opportunities: Physicians have the opportunity to work closely with medical students and residents.
Patient Population & Scope of Care
- Adult Primary Care (CNOHC): Care for adult patients ages 18 and older (non-pregnant) managing various chronic health conditions, such as:
- Type 2 Diabetes (DM 2)
- Hypertension (HTN)
- Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
- Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), and more.
- Demographics: We serve a diverse adult population ranging from 18 to over 90 years old.
- Specialized Clinics: Pediatric and OB care are handled by separate specialized clinics.
Procedures & Special Interests
- Office Procedures: Physicians are welcome to perform their own procedures—including toenail removals, punch and shave biopsies, joint injections, and other standard office procedures.
- Procedure Clinic: A dedicated procedure clinic is available for clinicians who prefer not to perform them independently.
- Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM): OMM resources and opportunities are available for Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who wish to incorporate it into their practice.
