About the Organization

Central Valley Counseling Center is a leading provider of mental health services located in Rochester, New York. Our mission is to enhance the overall well-being of our diverse client population by offering tailored therapeutic interventions. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment dedicated to the principles of inclusivity, compassion, and empowerment. By joining our team, you become part of an organization that prioritizes mental health and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Work Environment

Our innovative telehealth facility allows our counselors to reach clients in a comfortable and flexible manner, ensuring that mental health support is accessible. You will utilize advanced technology to conduct therapy sessions, manage client records, and collaborate with fellow professionals. The remote nature of this position allows for a balanced work-life dynamic while still maintaining meaningful connections with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform initial assessments to accurately evaluate the current mental health status and substance abuse needs of clients, integrating standardized screening tools as needed.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans based on assessment data, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Deliver effective therapeutic services through individual sessions, facilitating group therapy, and engaging with family members to promote holistic healing.
  • Ensure meticulous clinical documentation in compliance with health regulations and organizational standards, using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
  • Participate actively in case reviews and treatment planning meetings, contributing your insights to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention services during emergencies, including the assessment of imminent risks and the implementation of safety plans.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, best practices in mental health, and evidence-based treatments through continuous professional development.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse array of clients, ranging from adolescents to adults, who are experiencing various mental health disorders and substance use challenges. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting clients during critical phases of their recovery journey, focusing on fostering resilience and coping strategies.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related mental health field is required.
  • Active licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York (LMHC).
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, facilitating effective interactions with clients and team members.
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to engage in multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other digital tools for practice management.
  • Previous experience in telehealth service provision is highly desirable.
  • Specialization in trauma-informed care or cognitive Behavioral therapy can be an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, Central Valley Counseling Center provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings plans, and generous paid time off. We prioritize the well-being of our staff, understanding that a healthy work-life balance enhances job satisfaction and performance.
