IT Systems Administrator
About The Centers

At The Centers, technology is the backbone of everything we do for the communities we serve. We believe in creating an environment where curiosity is welcomed, learning is continuous, and every team member has the opportunity to grow alongside the technology they support. If you\'re a hands-on IT professional who thrives on variety, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants your work to truly matter, this is your opportunity.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled and motivated IT Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This is a generalist role built for someone who enjoys working across the full spectrum of IT infrastructure — from cloud environments and enterprise networking to telephony and end-user support.

You will serve as a key escalation point for complex technical issues and play a direct role in high-impact projects that strengthen our agency\'s technology foundation. This role offers a genuine opportunity to contribute meaningfully, expand your skill set, and work across a wide range of modern technologies — including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualization, firewalls, and multi-layered networking environments.

What We\'re Looking For

Education: An Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. We recognize that skills and demonstrated experience matter — an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience will be considered.

Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, network administration, or a closely related IT role. Familiarity with HIPAA privacy and security requirements is a plus.

Technical Skills: Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, servers, workstations, firewalls, and wired/wireless networks. Familiarity with telephony environments (POTS, PBX, VoIP) is preferred.

Automation Mindset: A demonstrated ability to identify and automate routine tasks, with experience in scripting or equivalent technical approaches.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts clearly for users at all levels of technical familiarity.

Certifications: Technical certifications in Microsoft technologies, networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration are preferred. A valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation are required for travel between agency locations.

What You\'ll Do

Infrastructure Support & Administration — Serve as a hands-on resource for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, workstations, firewalls, and wired and wireless network infrastructure across OSI layers 1–7.

Telephony Systems — Support and maintain agency telephony environments, including POTS, PBX, and VoIP systems.

Cloud & Identity Management — Administer and optimize Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Maintain Active Directory and Group Policy with a focus on security, standardization, and operational reliability.

Escalated Technical Support — Partner with the help desk team to resolve complex issues escalated from tier-one support, coordinating with vendors when needed to drive timely resolution.

Automation & Scripting — Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and develop creative scripting solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

System Documentation & Performance — Document system configurations, analyze performance, and maintain clear records that support continuity, compliance, and institutional knowledge.

Project Leadership — Lead and contribute to new system implementations and enhancements, collaborating across teams to deliver solutions aligned with agency priorities.

Standards & Security — Establish and maintain standards for the administration and security of all system components, including servers, network devices, user workstations, and peripherals.

Why Join Us

Grow with us. This role is designed for someone who enjoys learning. You will be exposed to a wide range of technologies and will have opportunities to deepen your expertise in areas that matter most to you.

Work that matters. Your work directly supports the agency\'s mission and the services we provide to our communities. Technology reliability here is not just operational — it is essential.

Collaborative environment. You\'ll work alongside a team that values shared problem-solving, open communication, and collective success.

Competitive compensation. Market data for Systems Administrator roles reflects a broad range based on geography and experience. We are committed to offering pay that reflects the value you bring. Compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and market benchmarks.

The Centers is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
