Quality Workplace Coach

Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking a Workplace Coach, reporting to the Quality Workplace Coach Manager, working out of the Winnipeg office. The Workplace Coach will support quality inspectors and manage Structured On-The-Job activities.

Ideal candidates will be Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in inspection methods and quality processes, with hands-on experience and proficiency in Non-Conformance Record (NCR) writing. Strong collaboration, coaching, and leadership skills are essential, along with a genuine ability to connect with others. Our motto is, "We Make People Awesome." Position Responsibilities:

  • Able to coach Quality inspectors on best practices in inspection techniques and performance improvement, utilizing expertise in quality manufacturing and assembly across various areas such as assembly and composite inspections, SAP-CAMs, ECC, Supplier Drawings, Cure/Autoclave database, REDARS, PSDS, D Documents Navigation), to enhance coaching, performance improvement, and problem solving in support of the Boeing Production System

  • Analyzes and interprets performance and quality data (e.g. EPES) to identify improvement opportunities

  • Analyzes processes and supports problem solving, develops, communicates and documents innovative solutions in support of area quality goals

  • Assists Quality managers and team leads with Structured On-the-Job Training (SOJT) plans and provides program/job specific advanced skills coaching

  • Offers Subject Matter Expertise for specific Quality skills through Workplace Coaching

  • Provides coaching, positive modeling, and observation opportunities to help team members excel

  • Encourages questions to ensure understanding and gives timely feedback on performance

  • Reinforces efforts and progress while clarifying expected behaviors, knowledge, and proficiency levels

  • Fosters good interpersonal relationships through helping team members feel valued, appreciated and included in discussions

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Winnipeg, Manitoba location.

Candidate must be able to work the Day or Evening shift as required. The shift will be determined at the time of interview and offer.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 14+ years of experience in aerospace fabrication industry

  • 14+ years of experience in manufacturing operations processes and procedures (Assembly, Plastic, Trim, Paint)

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment

  • Must be willing to work the day or evening shift as assigned

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Quality inspection experience in three or more of these areas to enhance coaching, performance improvement, and problem solving in support of the Boeing Production System:

    • Assembly, composite, machining and trimming, layup, cloth cutting, Non-Destructive Inspector (NDI), Non-Conformant Record (NCR) tag writing, Paint, Systems, and/or Product Data Definition (PDD)

  • Strong training / coaching skills

  • Experience with Lean Principles and Boeing Production System

  • Experience as a team lead and/or lead-hand (coaching, mentoring and developing)

  • Experience with Line Side Control Center processes (LSCC)

  • Experience designing and developing course content and instructional materials
