Job description

SHIFT: NIGHT MF/MTh 8/10

bioMerieux is seeking a collaborative and results-oriented Production Team Lead to support daily manufacturing operations within our Fill-to-Finish production environment. In this role, you will provide frontline leadership to production teams, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, support continuous improvement efforts, and help drive operational performance.

The ideal candidate combines technical manufacturing expertise with strong leadership skills and a passion for developing people, improving processes, and delivering quality products in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities and communicate priorities, goals, and performance expectations to team members.
  • Support manufacturing operations by overseeing equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Review and ensure accurate completion of batch records and production documentation in compliance with cGMP and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Train, coach, and mentor production operators to ensure safe, effective, and compliant execution of manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues and partner with maintenance, quality, and other support functions to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available to meet production schedules.
  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement, 5S, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and PPE requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and support efforts to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and electronic document management systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production documentation.
  • Ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FDA-regulated or cGMP manufacturing environments.
  • Background in highly automated, aseptic, or high-speed production operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or similar operational excellence methodologies.
  • Experience with packaging equipment, material transactions, and production process troubleshooting.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The estimated wage range for this role based in Illinois is between $28.20 - 43.00. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
