Job description

Equipment Manufacturing Technician

The Equipment Manufacturing Technician is responsible for assembling, rebuilding, and maintaining Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) trucks and related equipment to ensure highquality output and timely project completion. This position also supports shop operations such as inventory management, contractor coordination, and prototype development. The Equipment Manufacturing Technician will report directly to the Mobile Equipment Manufacturing Specialist.


Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Support refit units with cleaning and decontamination of used tanks, pumps, and pipelines following company standards and best practices.
  • Mount pumps and piping on tank bodies, assemble and install hydraulic hosing, wire lowvoltage electrical components, and mount tank bodies to chassis.
  • Perform handson assembly and modifications to meet APC standards.
  • Run commissioning procedures to confirm quality and safety standards are met.
  • Report quality or safetyrelated findings immediately and complete applicable corrective actions.
  • Work with department personnel and engineers regarding assembly issues or continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area that supports the 5S Program and complies with all safety regulations.
  • Properly use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and systems for stability and quality.
  • Work independently or with minimal supervision on duties and tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • 18+ years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in mechanical, maintenance, or shop environment preferred.
  • Industrial, explosive, or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Possess an understanding of electrical systems and be able to read and understand wiring diagrams.
  • Possess an understanding of mechanical systems and be able to read and understand detail and process & instrumentation drawings.
  • Possess an understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective problemsolving abilities.
  • Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various departments and team members, including contractors.
  • Ability to use various hand & power tools.
  • Familiar with CMMS software and other required applications.
  • Possess basic Microsoft Word & Excel skills.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Possess reading and comprehension skills.
  • Strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including holidays and weekends.
  • Strong commitment to safety and to utilizing Stop Work Authority.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and work at heights.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for long periods of time.

Work Environment

First shift, Monday–Friday. This position will be exposed to a shop environment including the build center, maintenance area, and parts warehouse. In addition, this position will be exposed to all elements of weather on the plant site.
