Job Overview


The medical receptionist supports the medical providers by caring, personalized, and efficient patient handling, medical paperwork, supply management, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the medical receptionist provides a welcoming environment for patients, provides follow-up information to patients, and correctly inputs data as required. The medical receptionist maintains all the required certifications and skills necessary to function within the scope of the policy and procedures.


Duties


- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims
- Maintain and update patient medical records accurately
- Manage medical office tasks, including answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and handling correspondence
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and health information management to support clinic operations


Qualifications


- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred

- Bilingual proficiency is preferred
- Proficiency in medical office management tasks such as insurance verification, medical scheduling, and medical records maintenance
- Strong understanding of health information management principles
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dental terminology is a plus
