  • Oversee database security, access controls, and auditing in alignment with organizational security policies and compliance obligations.
  • Utilize monitoring and capacity-planning tools to track utilization, detect performance or reliability risks, and recommend improvements or scaling strategies.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work across the DBA team, providing guidance, mentoring, and technical direction while ensuring adherence to processes and documentation standards.
  • Support data-warehousing, ETL, and integration initiatives by advising on data models, load strategies, and database configurations.
  • Develop and maintain database standards, procedures, and knowledge artifacts that promote consistency, automation, and effective support of mission-critical services.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on database administration experience with enterprise database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including leadership or team-lead responsibilities.
  • Proven proficiency in database security, backup and recovery, disaster-recovery planning, and performance tuning in complex, multi-database environments.
  • Experience supporting data-warehousing, ETL processes, and data-integration tools, including the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate work across DBAs and collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation and to work in a U.S.-only federal IT context, with U.S. citizenship as specified.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10-25% as needed to support stakeholder engagement, implementations, and operational reviews.
