Job description

Job title: Consultant, Systems Requirements Analyst - Pension Administration

Role Type: Existing vacancy

Do you have a solid background in system and business analysis and a talent for translating—and challenging—complex requirements into robust technology solutions? Are you looking to make an impact on longterm, highimpact projects for leading Canadian pension plans? If so, Aon has the opportunity for you!

Aon is hiring a Consultant-level Pension Systems Requirements Analyst to join our Pension Administration Solutions team. In this role, you will work closely with Product Owners, developers, testers, operations teams and clients to define, document, and help deliver technology solutions for our administration platforms (including workflow applications and member web portals). This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional who wants to focus on ambitious implementation projects rather than daytoday operations.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

The Pension Systems Requirements Analyst collaborates directly with clients and cross-departmental groups to develop and evolve our administration platforms and digital tools:

  • Identifies, defines and reviews client requirements, including numbered examples, for integration into Aon’s exclusive administration solutions
  • Documents end to end functional requirements and user journeys for:
  • Applications designed for handling case and workflow processes
  • Member self service web portals and digital communications
  • Data interfaces, calculations, and reporting
  • Conducts a gap analysis between client requirements and available solutions and proposes system and process options that balance configurable functionality, reuse and maintainability.
  • Leads or facilitates requirements workshops involving both external customers and company teams, including process mapping and solution walkthroughs.
  • Understands administrative procedures and processes, challenges them where appropriate, and collaborates alongside clients and internal collaborators to translate them into efficient, scalable system behaviour.
  • Develops and updates applicable requirements documents, including plan provisions (SPP), data, web self-service functionality, workflow functionality, personal communication for members (PCS) and reports.
  • Works closely with developers, system architects and quality assurance teams to clarify requirements, support solution design and ensure feasibility of proposed changes.
  • Reviews the testing strategy to ensure all requirements are covered and the test plan is carefully detailed.
  • Ensures proactive follow-up of requirements documentation, and manages client and internal expectations until final approval, in consideration of the project plan.
How this opportunity is different

Our highly collaborative team drives innovation through ideas and implementation of solutions that allow an enhanced digital member experience and more efficient internal processing. You will have the ability to contribute to exciting projects which help redefine the Canadian pension administration services.

  • Playing a key role in the evolution of our workflow tools and digital selfservice platforms.
  • Working at the intersection of business, operations and technology, influencing system design decisions.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to automation, user experience and data quality.
Skills and experience that will lead to success

The Requirements Analyst is a very detailed self-starter, can self-manage their workload and projects, and adapt to the audience and evolving priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering or equivalent work experience in a systems/business analysis or similarly analytical area
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, or product analyst on technology projects (ideally in financial services, insurance or pensions).
  • Experience documenting functional and nonfunctional requirements for system application such as workflow/case management applications and/or customer selfservice web platforms.
  • Solid experience with system implementation or upgrade projects (requirements, specifications, test support, managing updates).
  • Ability to model processes and data flows using standard tools/methods (e.g., process maps, user stories/use cases, data dictionaries, interface specifications).
  • Solid grasp of SDLC and collaboration with development and QA teams (e.g., agile or hybrid methodologies).
  • French / English bilingualism is required due to the frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.

Aon is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this position. If you are a search firm, you will not be compensated in any way for your submission of a candidate, even if Aon hires that candidate.
