We are seeking a highly experienced
System Architect - Platform Engineering to define and drive the architecture of core platform systems that power enterprise-scale applications across
hybrid environments (on-prem data centers and public cloud).
This role focuses on
end-to-end system design, ensuring seamless integration across
compute, storage, networking, and platform services, while delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will combine deep
systems engineering expertise with architectural leadership, enabling the development of a unified, cloud-like platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead end-to-end system architecture for enterprise platform engineering, including compute, storage, networking, and platform services
- Design scalable and resilient platform systems across hybrid environments (on-prem + AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Architect and standardize core platform components, including:
- Kubernetes-based platforms (OpenShift, SUSE Rancher)
- Infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking integration)
- API-driven and self-service platform capabilities
- Drive architecture for high-performance systems, including HPC and GPU-based workloads
- Ensure tight integration between:
- Infrastructure layers (network, compute, storage)
- Platform layers (Kubernetes, APIs, developer services)
- Define system-level design standards, reference architectures, and best practices
- Collaborate with network, platform, SRE, and application teams to ensure cohesive architecture across the stack
- Design for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
- Guide modernization efforts, transforming legacy systems into modular, distributed platform architectures
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies aligned with long-term platform strategy
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in systems architecture, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong expertise in large-scale distributed systems design
- Deep experience with compute, storage, and networking architectures in enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms (OpenShift, SUSE Rancher, or similar)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Familiarity with programming languages (Python, Go)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic/ELK)
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture patterns
- Experience designing enterprise private cloud platforms
- Knowledge of advanced data center networking (EVPN/VXLAN, SDN)
- Experience with Apache ecosystem (Kafka, Spark, or data platforms)
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Understanding of API gateway, IAM, and platform integration patterns
- Exposure to GPU / AI / HPC workloads
