What the day will look like

As an Account Executive while generating sustainable growth through new mandates. You coordinate all of Aon’s resources and bring the best of Aon to each client.

Key responsibilities:

Account management (existing clients)

  • Manage a portfolio of Aon commercial and multinational clients, made up of international companies and large corporations with operations in Canada.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for these clients and be responsible for understanding their specific risk management and insurance needs.
  • Lead the development of the account approach, coordinate the implementation of insurance programs, and promote lasting client happiness and retention.
  • Work closely with colleagues and with Aon’s broader network to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting your clients, and advise them proactively.

Business development (New clients and growth)

  • Identify, target, and develop new clients within your market segments.
  • Detect crosssell opportunities and ways to expand Aon’s offering with existing clients.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling value propositions in collaboration with technical and specialist teams.
  • Represent Aon at local events, conferences, and association meetings to build your professional network and strengthen the firm’s profile in the market.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

We are looking for an Account Director with a balanced mix of technical insurance expertise, strong client relationship skills, and a clear commercial attitude. The ideal candidate has bilingual communication skills and strong personal efficiency. They can connect risk strategies to clients’ strategic business goals. The key skills and behaviours we’re seeking are outlined below.

Technical skills

  • Expertise in commercial insurance and risk management
    • Applies an indepth understanding of commercial property & casualty insurance products for businesses (including international/multinational programs) and key sectorspecific risks.
    • Able to analyze an existing insurance program, identify coverage gaps, and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework
    • Understands compliance requirements applicable in Québec and Canada (including the AMF) and operates in line with them.
    • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required licences (e.g., AMF licence in commercial insurance).
  • Mastery of tools and systems
    • Uses MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) independently and effectively to analyze data, prepare client presentations, and track commercial activity.
    • Adapts quickly to Aon’s internal systems (CRM, portfolio management platforms, pricing or placement tools).

Client & relationship skills

  • Client relationship management (Account Management)
    • Builds and maintains positive relationships with corporate and global clients.
    • Understands clients’ business priorities and tailors the account strategy accordingly.
    • Ensures a client experience consistent with Aon’s Client Promise (proactivity, clarity,structured followup).
  • Customer service orientation
    • Demonstrates a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, and quality in interactions with internal and external clients.
    • Manages sensitive situations or complex issues effectively, keeping the client at the center of decisions.

  • Bilingual communication (French/English)
    • French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.
  • Presentation and influence
    • Prepares and delivers client presentations, renewal meetings, or strategic account reviews.
    • Can explain sophisticated technical concepts in an accessible, straightforward way.
