Software Developer – San Antonio, TX

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Software Engineer designs and develops software applications. The Software Engineer assists the customer in defining requirements to develop, modify, or enhance analytic tools, utilities or databases (relational, object oriented, expert, artificial intelligence, or a combination thereof) to enhance, access, view, manipulate, add, modify, or delete data to satisfy analytic requirements. The Software Engineer will also oversee development of Software Requirements Specification, Software User Manual, Software Design Description, Software Test Plan, Software Version Description, Database Design Description (DBDD), and Software Test Plan.

MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Four years of development experience with hands on knowledge of Oracle MySQL, Python, Postgres, C, C++, JAVA, Perl, Linux, Shell Script, PLSQL (Oracle), JavaScript, HTML, VMware, XML Enterprise software development. Candidate must possess expert knowledge in the network security field and be capable of working in a fast-paced, large-team environment. Experience in development of applications using Elastic Stack.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The selected candidate will design, build, enhance and maintain the latest intrusion detection/prevention and computer network defense technologies. Develop low-level software for intrusion prevention and computer network defense systems. Enhance existing software by deriving algorithms, adding new capabilities, increasing performance, and improving usability. Create application programming interfaces (APIs) for third-party applications to communicate with existing software. Translate customer requirements into software design documents. Develop unit and functional tests to satisfy Quality Assurance Test. Innovate and present Course of Action (COA) options in response to Software Change Requests.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Possess and maintain required skills to include, but not limited to:

*Experienced in software development using the Agile methodology and Scrum framework in a DevOps environment.

*Implement Information protection functions to including hardware/software tools to enhance network security.

*Possess proficiency with intrusion detection/protection systems, various operating systems, protocol and routing, network architecture and reading/analyzing system logs.

*Knowledge and hands on experience with the development and employment of the Elastic Stack and other big data capture analytic environments and SEIMs.

*Knowledge of real time packet processing systems such as Rave and PacketC (CloudShield).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must have an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
