CLIENT X-Labs is the cross-disciplinary, creative innovation group focused on the intersection of human-centered design and outdoor media. The group, which is situated within the larger Client X marketing department, comprises four key teams, each working in lockstep to explore the future of outdoor media through concept to realization.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the Senior Experience Design Lead in the CLIENT X-Labs group, you will be a key representative of the Experience Design team. You will lead development of all IA/UX/CX/UI based efforts, including the generation of presentation and documentation materials, and be responsible for the management of design and research resources and workstreams. The right candidate will be a hands-on leader, mentor, and contributor, while embracing a cross-functional and collaborative approach to partnering with other disciplines. Culturally, the X-Labs group is all about empathy for our teammates and you will be tasked with ensuring this philosophy by modulating your style to compliment ones that differ. Throughout CLIENT X, the X-Labs group is known for its strong relationships, where our proactive, solution-oriented methodology has led to great results for our stakeholders. If you’re one part logic and one part creative you’ll find your footing well within this role; as it requires organizational thinking and architecting matched with future forward creative solutions that meet business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. User Experience + Information Architecture
In this aspect of the role you will be serving as the resident expert in UX and IA best
practices and implementation. You will work closely with product owners and product marketing
teams to ensure KPI’s are understood and considered from briefing to execution. You will be
expected to develop annotated documentation that can be reviewed and approved by key
stakeholders over the course of a project. As with most UX/IA assignments, you will also develop
wireframes, site maps, and user flows to effectively communicate strategies.
  1. Traditional Web + App – Your primary UX/IA focus will be on existing websites/products
that undergo updates or complete redesigns, both internally and with external partners
  1. Emerging Experiences – At times, we will develop emerging technology products, such as
AR/MR/VR and other second-screen experiences that require forward thinking design.
Consumer Experience: Connecx by OUTFRONT
Part of the vision for Connecx by OUTFRONT is to bring the art and science of consumer
experience to outdoor media. Much like a digital product, where the user flow or consumer journey is
central to the end-user experience, we’re taking the same approach to our digital media and the
environments they coexist within. It’s our belief that outdoor digital media must integrate into
communities and provide more purpose, meaning, and value to audiences and advertisers alike. To
make this belief a reality, we’ve developed the consultative service for our transit and municipality
partners to bring real-time information and assistance to communities. You will play a key role in
bringing this vision to life and collaborating with our partners as the primary representative for the
service. This will include:
Leading CX discovery sessions with key stakeholders
Hosting and moderating 1:1 and group research interviews
Crafting informed CX strategies for stakeholder approval/alignment
Concepting and designing dynamic, assistive content modules
Applying partner branding to templatized and new modules
Partnering with Creative Technology and Live Data teams to execute
Quarterly reviews of content effectiveness with stakeholders
User Interface Design
In this aspect of the role, you will lead user interface design for new web pages and microsites, while
overseeing and guiding the on-going maintenance of existing OUTFRONT web properties. Some
web properties are built using component-based CMS and subject to design limitations.
OUT.COM – OUTFRONT.com is the primary corporate website for OUTFRONT Media. The
website is currently built on SiteCore and will require intermittent design updates that involve
XD partnering with OUTFRONT Interactive Services - https://www.outfrontmedia.com/
IME/Preview Tool – The OUTFRONT Interactive Marketing Experience, is a powerful
micro-site that provides requirements, specifications, best practices, deployment maps, and
preview tools for OUTFRONT digital media assets - https://nyliveboards.outfrontmedia.com/
Internal/External Web/App Design – At times internal stakeholders/teams and external
agencies/partners will solicit OUTFRONT production support for web and app development.
InsideOUT – OUTFRONT intranet and employee resource destination
Discipline Leadership
In this aspect of your role you will oversee all Experience Design resources in the X-Labs group to
achieve all of the tasks it leads and supports, including the development of OUTFRONT marketing
materials.
Ensuring the team is staffed with the most appropriate resources and skill sets
Efficient and effective processes that maximize XD’s value to the organization
Advocate for the X-Labs group across the organization, by serving as the key OUTFRONT
representative for Experience Design.
REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years in the UX/UI design field with at least 3+ leading IA/UX strategies
Knowledge of CX research, strategies, and creative responses a huge plus
Expert working knowledge of the Adobe Suite
Experience in data visualization, data-feeds, API’s, and dev readied hand-offs
Basic knowledge of modern web development (HTML, CSS, JS, Responsive Design)
Strong visual design sensibilities ranging from UI to Interactive to and Video
Proven experience in developing and managing a design system
Ability work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to a production schedule
Experience leading the full UX process and articulating a POV
Experience managing junior designers and researchers
Experience managing or partnering with third-party development agencies
Ability to integrate constructive feedback on design solutions
Ability to problem solve complex design problems with creativity and efficiency
Experienced in creating fully-annotated wireframes, user flows, and prototypes using
tools such as InVision, Figma, Sketch, etc...
Master UX/UI design skills and knowledge base
Experience with designing web apps that serve a range of users and requirements
Strong understanding of product development process and best practices
Working with product owners and developers to ensure built to design solutions
Strong ability to communicate strategy, ideas, project plans clearly
