Description
Position Overview
The Logistics Coordinator - Ocean is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of Ocean Export/Import shipments. This role involves managing bookings, preparing documents, and supporting customs clearance, while ensuring accurate freight settlement and billing management for all maritime shipments.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
. Ocean Shipment Solutions & Execution
  • Develop and provide optimal logistics solutions for international Ocean Freight customers.
  • Coordinate with Ocean Carriers and forwarding partners to manage bookings and vessel schedules.
  • Prepare essential maritime documentation (Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List) and ensure accurate data entry into the TMS.
  • Execute problem resolution during the transit of all ocean shipments.

Coordination & Compliance
  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules with ocean carriers, terminals, brokers, and customers.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with maritime regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain professional communication with shippers and consignees regarding shipment status.

Settlement & Billing
  • Review and settle Ocean Freight rates and various surcharges (e.g., Demurrage, Detention, Fuel).
  • Manage customer invoicing (Billing) and verify vendor payables to carriers and trucking partners.
  • Evaluate vendor market-based rates to ensure competitive pricing and cost optimization.

Monitoring & Reporting
  • Maintain real-time visibility of shipment milestones and statuses within the TMS.
  • Proactively communicate any delays or transit issues to customers and implement contingency plans.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned or required. (always include this last bullet point)

Required Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, organize, and manage time effectively
  • English Fluency in verbal and written communications
  • Bilingual in Korean/English

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in logistics, cargo management, supply chain, customer service, dispatching
  • Warehousing, administrative work, data entry & analysis, or transportation are preferred.

Physical Requirements
This is largely a sedentary role requiring the physical ability to:
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer
  • Use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and telephone
  • Speak and hear clearly in person, virtually, and over the phone
  • Occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or lift up to 10 pounds

Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid environment, with responsibilities carried out in both a warehouse setting and an office environment. In the warehouse, the employee is exposed to:
  • Varying temperatures, including but not limited to refrigerated or non-climate controlled areas
  • Loud noise levels, such as machinery, forklifts, and conveyor systems
  • Dust, odors, and airborne particles
  • Concrete flooring and moving mechanical equipment
  • Frequent exposure to powered industrial vehicles and warehouse traffic

The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests.
In the office environment, the employee will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers. The noise level in the office is typically quiet to moderate, and the area is climate-controlled.

This role may be performed on-site only.
Schedule
Work hours may vary by shift assignment and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.
