Job description

Our Global Security Operations team operates with enterprise scale, operational urgency, and an intelligence-led mindset. We move with discipline, partner across the business, and turn emerging risk signals into practical actions that safeguard employees and strengthen resilience.

As the AVP of Global Security Operations, you will set strategy, oversee results, and lead a globally integrated security operations program spanning executive protection, physical security operations, GSOC, protective intelligence, travel safety, employee emergency notification, security technology, and vendor performance.

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Protection & Executive Threat Management

Lead the enterprise Executive Protection Program for the CEO, Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and other designated protectees.

Set executive protection methodologies that balance safety, operational efficiency, discretion, and executive experience.

Oversee advance planning, protective operations, residential security, secure transportation, special events, and executive travel standards.

Direct executive threat management, behavioral threat assessment, protective intelligence, online threat monitoring, case management, and law enforcement coordination.

Global Physical Security Operations

Lead enterprise physical security programs protecting employees, visitors, facilities, critical infrastructure, and company assets worldwide.

Oversee facility security operations, guard force management, contract security services, access control, video surveillance, workplace security, and security assessments.

Develop global physical security standards with regional flexibility for threat, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Partner with Global Real Estate and business leaders on security design for new construction, renovations, and critical infrastructure protection.

Global Security Operations Center

Develop, operate, and continuously improve a world-class GSOC supporting worldwide operations.

Drive 24/7 monitoring, incident detection and response, security dispatch, alarm monitoring, video monitoring, intelligence fusion, crisis coordination, business continuity support, and situational awareness.

Implement technology and automation to improve response times, operational efficiency, decision-making, and enterprise visibility.

Intelligence & Protective Intelligence

Lead enterprise intelligence capabilities that identify emerging risks and enable proactive decision-making.

Oversee global intelligence collection, geopolitical analysis, civil unrest monitoring, terrorism and criminal threat assessments, executive threat intelligence, supply chain risk intelligence, and special event monitoring.

Establish intelligence products that support executives, crisis leadership teams, and security operations.

Travel Risk Management

Lead the enterprise travel safety program protecting employees conducting domestic and international business.

Oversee travel risk assessments, destination intelligence, executive travel support, high-risk travel approvals, emergency traveler assistance, medical evacuation coordination, travel tracking, country risk ratings, security briefings, and international crisis response.

Partner with travel providers and external security vendors to support global traveler safety.

Employee Emergency Notification & Crisis Communications

Lead enterprise emergency communications supporting employee safety worldwide.

Oversee mass notification systems, employee accountability, emergency communications, crisis messaging, severe weather notifications, active threat notifications, business disruption communications, global notification governance, and communication testing.

Ensure timely, accurate, and scalable communications during emergencies.

Security Technology & Innovation

Partner with security technology teams to modernize security operations and improve interoperability across platforms.

Support implementation and optimization of enterprise access control, video management systems, AI-enabled monitoring, analytics platforms, incident management systems, threat management platforms, visitor management, mobile security applications, security robotics, drone detection technologies, enterprise reporting, and dashboards.

Leverage automation and analytics to improve operational effectiveness and enterprise risk visibility.

Strategic Leadership, Financial & Vendor Management

Develop long-term security operations strategy aligned with corporate objectives, enterprise governance, and operational risk priorities.

Build high-performing teams and foster a culture of operational excellence, innovation, accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership during incidents and crises, and represent Global Security with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and industry partners.

Develop and manage multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets, oversee enterprise security service providers, negotiate strategic vendor relationships, and measure performance through SLAs and KPIs.

Required Qualifications

10+ years leading large, geographically dispersed security organizations.

Demonstrated leadership within a Fortune 500 or similarly complex global organization.

Experience leading executive protection operations for C-suite executives and boards of directors.

Experience developing enterprise physical security programs and operating a global security operations center.

Experience leading crisis management and incident response.

Strong understanding of security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, visitor management, and enterprise security platforms.

Proven experience managing large operating budgets and outsourced security contracts.

Preferred

Certified Threat Manager (CTM).

Experience supporting international operations across multiple regions.

Experience implementing AI-enabled security technologies and intelligence platforms.
