Coordinator, International Programs

POSITION DESCRIPTION

WTC Utah is seeking an International Programs Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of international programs that serve Utah businesses. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive team member who enjoys project management, research, and coordination in a fast-paced, globally focused environment.

This role plays a key part in delivering trade missions, trade shows, and international business engagements, while also supporting relationships with global partners and local stakeholders. The position operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Coordinator will report to the Senior Director for International Programs (or designated supervisor) and will contribute to advancing WTC Utah’s mission by supporting Utah companies in their global growth efforts.

WHO WE ARE

World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah) is a Utah nonprofit corporation dedicated to accelerating growth for Utah businesses through our global network, programs, and services.

The International Programs team functions within the Front Office to support WTC Utah’s mission by connecting Utah companies to international opportunities, facilitating global market access, and delivering high-impact programs that drive new trade opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the planning, logistics, and execution of trade missions, trade shows, business trips, and other international programs.
    • Organize 1-2 governor-led trade missions per year.
      • This includes end-to-end involvement with building the trade mission agenda, planning the logistics for the trade mission, managing expenditures, identifying sponsorship opportunities, recruiting Utah businesses to participate in the trade mission, traveling on advance trips to prepare the program, and ensuring successful execution of the trade mission.
    • Organize 3-4 industry- or sector-focused business trips per year.
      • This includes end-to-end involvement with building the agenda, planning the logistics, managing expenditures, recruiting Utah businesses to participate, and ensuring successful execution of the business trips.
    • Organize 5-7 trade shows per year.
      • This includes providing support for identifying shows, registering and setting up our presences at the shows, recruiting Utah businesses to participate in shows, and managing Utah businesses to ensure effective participation and generate significant new trade opportunities from the shows.
  • Maintain project timelines, task lists, templates, and other planning materials.
  • Prepare program documents, briefings, itineraries, and participant materials.
  • Assist with post-trip reporting, follow-up documentation, and Salesforce data updates.
  • Provide on-site or virtual support during events or delegation activities as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, partnerships, and finance, to ensure aligned program execution and accurate documentation.
  • Work with WTC Utah’s network of international partners and develop working relationships with local government officials, industry associations, and business leaders.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with other WTC Utah departments and teams to improve communication and optimize services.
  • Support programming for inbound trade missions and other foreign delegations, as needed.
  • Provide support as needed in other areas of the organization to improve our overall delivery of service.

The role may require occasional travel, as well as flexibility to support events and programs outside of standard business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Interest in and familiarity with international business, global trade, or economic development.
  • Experience with event planning, logistics, or program coordination.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Experience working with business stakeholders or government entities.
