Job description

GLOBAL LOGISTICS LEAD (DANGEROUS GOODS)

SpaceX is looking for a highly motivated Dangerous Goods (DG) Lead, known internally as a Global Logistics Lead to join the Logistics team. This role owns the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of DG policies, controls, and processes to ensure safe, compliant, and scalable transportation of dangerous goods across air, ocean, and ground networks.

You will partner closely with internal teams, carriers, consultants, and regulators to drive safety and compliance across the company while enabling new transportation models that support Starlink's rapid growth. Success in this role requires strong regulatory expertise, operational judgment, and the ability to turn complex requirements into clear, scalable processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve DG policies, procedures, and controls for air, ocean, and ground transportation
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on IATA, 49 CFR, IMDG, and related U.S. and international DG regulations
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and documentation to ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Drive scalable solutions and metric-based continuous improvement that reduce risk and support business growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, industry associations, and key partners
  • Partner with senior leadership across organizations to align policy, risk posture, and operational controls
  • Support new business opportunities and transportation models with clear regulatory guidance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing air, ground, and ocean dangerous goods shipments
  • 3+ years of experience with U.S. and international DG regulations and import/export compliance
  • Current valid certifications: DOT, IATA, and IMDG

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong experience with lithium battery transportation and classification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth logistics or aerospace environment
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20-25%
  • This position is based in Bastrop, TX or Redmond/Woodinville, WA, or Hawthorne, CA and requires regular onsite presence
