Job description

Summary:
Performs functions directed toward ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant movement of raw materials and finished goods. This is a hands-on position responsible for leading daily warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and workforce performance.
Essential Functions:
  • Work Environment - Responsible for ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance- Enforcement of Protocols related to GMP, HACCP, CCP, Allergen Control, Pest Control & Sanitation, and FDA Regulations to prevent contamination ensuring product integrity of raw material and finished goods. Ensure all lot codes are accurately documented.
  • Operations & Inventory Management- Responsible for ensuring 100% accuracy for Shipping and Receiving Operation ensuring secure loading of finished goods, unloading of raw material, Inventory accuracy, stock rotation of raw and finished goods, and warehouse space utilization. Investigate damages to products or equipment due to warehouse personnel actions.
  • Leadership & Personnel Management-Supervision of warehouse staff and daily activities. Team Supervision directing, training, and motivating warehouse lead and forklift operators. Scheduling and managing labor hours to meet production and customer demand, while ensuring compliance to labor regulations.
  • Performance Management- Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Safety Training- Training employees on safe material handling practices including raw material, finished goods, Hazmat, PPE requirements, and powered industrial truck operation. Responsible for daily and monthly, walk-through safety checks.
  • Safety Audits- Conduct regular Safety Audits and housekeeping inspections.
  • Maintenance- Ensures our forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock equipment receive proper preventative maintenance.
  • Process Improvement- Actively Involved in identifying bottlenecks, the reduction of damage/waste, and the implementation of cost saving initiatives.
  • Documentation and Data Collection- Actively involved in documentation review and data collection ensuring operational compliance and accuracy.
  • HAZMAT- Enforces and maintains proper storage and identification for Hazmat Inventory. Follows and enforce guidelines for HAZMAT shipments in accordance with IATA, FAA and DOT.
  • Perform any additional tasks / special projects assigned by the warehouse manager.

Salary:
  • Starting at $54,000.00 - $68,000.00 a year.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year college degree preferred and/or 5 years of work experience in related field.
  • Food plant experience and knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Allergen Protocol are required.
  • Excellent math skills are required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lb.
  • Ability to climb ladders as required.

Work Environment:
  • The job is performed on the production floor area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
