KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEHR Optimization Advisory
  • Serve as the primary EHR consulting expert for an assigned portfolio of clients, providing advisory support on system configuration, template design, clinical workflow optimization, and provider usability improvements.
  • Conduct EHR utilization assessments to identify workflow gaps, underutilized features, documentation inefficiencies, and configuration issues — delivering actionable optimization roadmaps with prioritized recommendations.
  • Advise clients on clinical template design, order set development, note structure, and decision support tools to improve documentation accuracy, reduce provider burden, and support coding and billing workflows.
  • Guide clients through EHR upgrades, module implementations, and workflow redesign initiatives — providing project oversight, change management guidance, and end-user adoption strategies.
  • Ensure client EHR environments are configured to support quality measure documentation, population health management, and value-based care reporting requirements.
Training, Adoption & Change Management
  • Develop and deliver EHR training programs, workflow guides, and adoption resources tailored to clinical and administrative audiences within client organizations.
  • Partner with client IT and operations teams to assess provider satisfaction with EHR workflows and implement targeted interventions to reduce documentation burden and improve efficiency.
  • Support clients in developing internal super-user and go-to resources programs to sustain EHR optimization efforts beyond the consulting engagement.
  • Lead structured post-implementation reviews to assess adoption, identify gaps, and refine workflows based on real-world utilization data.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead client-facing advisory sessions, quarterly business reviews, and EHR strategic planning meetings with CMOs, medical directors, clinical operations leaders, and IT teams.
  • Proactively communicate EHR vendor updates, regulatory interoperability requirements (e.g., TEFCA, information blocking rules), and relevant clinical technology developments that affect client operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client clinical and operations teams, serving as a trusted advisor and escalation point for EHR-related challenges.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Practice Growth
  • Partner with Account Managers to identify EHR-related expansion opportunities and additional service needs within existing client accounts.
  • Collaborate with RCM specialists to ensure EHR templates and documentation workflows support accurate coding, clean claims submission, and optimal reimbursement.
  • Work with VBC/Quality specialists to ensure EHR configuration supports quality measure capture, care gap closure, and population health reporting.
  • Contribute to EHR practice toolkits, workflow libraries, template repositories, and best-practice guides that benefit the broader consulting practice.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Client EHR utilization and feature adoption rates vs. baseline
  • Provider satisfaction scores and documentation efficiency improvements
  • Reduction in client EHR-related billing errors and documentation rework
  • Client satisfaction scores and retention in assigned accounts
  • Timeliness and quality of client reporting deliverables and project milestones
  • Expansion revenue attributable to PacEHR practice referrals and recommendations
QUALIFICATIONSEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Sciences, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
  • EHR vendor certification (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Oracle Health) or equivalent platform expertise strongly preferred.
Experience
  • 5–8+ years of experience in EHR implementation, optimization, clinical informatics, or health IT consulting.
  • 3+ years in a client-facing, consulting, or advisory role working directly with healthcare provider organizations.
  • Hands‑on expertise with one or more major EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Oracle Health/Cerner, Greenway) including configuration, template design, and workflow build.
  • Experience advising on clinical documentation improvement (CDI), EHR-based quality reporting, and interoperability requirements.
  • Familiarity with ambulatory, multi-specialty, and value-based care clinical environments.
Skills & Competencies
  • Deep knowledge of EHR systems, clinical workflow design, healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR), and provider usability best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills — able to assess EHR utilization data, identify adoption gaps, and develop targeted interventions.
  • Excellent communication and training skills; able to present technical EHR concepts to clinical and non-technical stakeholders with equal clarity.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, drive complex projects to completion, and adapt to varying client environments.
  • Consultative mindset — translates clinical operational goals into practical EHR solutions and holds clients accountable to adoption milestones.
