Job description

Position Summary The Cybersecurity SME will provide expert guidance, oversight, and execution support for cybersecurity governance and compliance activities across Boeing lab environments. This role ensures alignment with FAR/DFAR requirements, DoD‑mandated cybersecurity controls, and internal governance expectations—now applicable to both classified and unclassified lab environments. The SME will play a key role in maturing cyber posture, supporting audit readiness, and elevating cybersecurity awareness across multi‑functional lab teams. Key Responsibilities Interpret, implement, and monitor cybersecurity requirements driven by FAR/DFAR clauses and DoD contractual flow‑downs.
Perform assessments of current lab cybersecurity processes, environment configurations, and control adherence; identify gaps and lead corrective‑action plans.
Develop and standardize cybersecurity governance frameworks, including access controls, configuration management practices, and system‑hardening procedures.
Train engineers, technicians, and lab personnel on required cybersecurity principles—particularly as cyber requirements expand to unclassified systems and equipment.
Support documentation and execution of cybersecurity‑related deliverables tied to the Statement of Work, including milestone reviews and audit‑readiness checks.
Participate in onsite lab evaluations during Phase 1 (e.g., OKC, St. Louis, Mesa, Jacksonville) to validate compliance and support hands‑on implementation.
Collaborate closely with Boeing subject‑matter experts, IT/cyber leadership, technicians, and inventory SMEs to ensure seamless cybersecurity integration across lab workflows.
Maintain continuous situational awareness of evolving DoD, NIST, and Boeing cyber policies that affect lab operations. Required Qualifications Expertise in cybersecurity governance, compliance, and implementation within a DoD or federally regulated environment.
Deep understanding of FAR/DFAR cybersecurity requirements, including system security, incident response, data protection, and control enforcement.
Experience with RMF, STIG/SCAP benchmarks, ATO‑related documentation, or similar accreditation/assessment frameworks.
Strong background supporting cybersecurity in hardware, lab, or engineering environments (preferred).
Ability to translate complex cybersecurity requirements into actionable processes for non‑cyber personnel.
Active Secret clearance required.
Ability to work onsite 5 days per week, with travel during initial site‑assessment phases. Soft Skills Strong communication and teaching approach with the ability to influence and guide cross‑functional teams.
Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Adaptability and comfort working in fast‑moving, ambiguous, high‑visibility environments.
