Senior Process Manufacturing Engineer — Automotive & Robotics

Location: Boston, MA — Onsite
Type: Contract W2/C2C
 

Position Overview

We are seeking Senior Process Manufacturing Engineers from Tier-1 automotive backgrounds with proven experience setting up and commissioning manufacturing facilities from the ground up. The role owns the end-to-end manufacturing development lifecycle: concept → process design → validation → ramp → full production.

Industry Background

High-volume manufacturing experience within a Tier-1 automotive environment. Tier-1 suppliers operate with tight margins and aggressive schedules, demanding manufacturing and industrial excellence.

Core Competencies

  • Manufacturing Process Development: Define, design, and deliver manufacturing processes for complex assembly products, from concept through full production scale-up
  • Process Engineering Fundamentals: Strong command of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), time studies, line balancing, and P-FMEA
  • Design for Manufacturing: Analyze product designs and provide actionable DFM recommendations
  • GD&T: Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and its manufacturing application
  • Equipment & Vendor Management: Write technical specifications and manage vendors through full equipment commissioning
  • Industrial KPIs: Strong grasp of OEE, MTTR, MTBF, cycle time, throughput, and yield
  • Digital Manufacturing: Familiarity with MES and digital manufacturing principles
