This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Vice President, Automotive Robotics - USA
In this role, you will be responsible for US Robotics Tier I Automotive order pipeline. The overall responsibility is to generate and follow up on robot and robot systems leads.
Position requires the ability to travel 70%+ of the time during a typical workweek. (MI and throughout North America on planned trips to plastics, welding, metals and other Tier suppliers)
Your Role and Responsibilities:
  • Understanding the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g., sustainability/digital/cybersecurity) of the relevant global customer's business and business environment, translating them into the corresponding impacts and opportunities for ABB.
  • Building sales strategies by providing current business and long-term plans for the customer.
  • Giving input on market price developments monitoring competitors' activity with the account and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are implemented.
  • Submitting complete and accurate proposal and forecast information within Salesforce
  • Managing on time and accurate and follow up Leads, Opportunities, Bids and Purchase orders in SalesForce
  • Accomplish the Sales targets in Volume and Portfolio set at beginning of the year according Sales Strategy.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid in Auburn Hills, MI
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree PLUS minimum 6 years sales experience OR Associate's degree PLUS minimum 8 years sales experience OR High School diploma/GED PLUS minimum 10 years' sales experience
  • Sales hunter; self starter.
  • Previous Automotive industry experience; experience in selling automation, preferably robots and robotic automation systems for a variety of applications

Desired Requirements
  • Ability to create and develop relationships with new customers. Cold calling. Hunter mentality.
  • Knowledge of PLC's, robotics, small cell automation.
  • This role is focused on selling to plastics, casting and metals customers. Five or more years selling in these industries needed for ideal success.
  • Salesforce knowledge is a Must.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% weekly
  • Candidates must possess work authorization that would allow them to work permanently in the US without sponsorship.
