Description

YWCA Dayton, a 24-hour organization dedicated to the elimination of racism and the empowerment of women, seeks an energetic, dedicated person to be an integral part of our team. As an Exempt - Salaried position, the Housing Case Manager - Lead reports to the Director of Housing / Operations and is passionate about "Making a Difference" in the lives of all within our community. 


This position is mission oriented and an Exempt - Salaried employee expected to work 40 hours weekly with some evenings and weekend activities. This position is a positive representation of the YWCA Dayton to greet all clients with warmth and friendliness, great customer service in offering rapid rehousing to homeless women and families supporting the vision, mission, and values of YWCA Dayton. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess, orient, and facilitate client entry into the Housing program. 
  • Partner with St. Vincent De Paul to coordinate services for mutual clients, often working from their provided office space. 
  • Provide housing-focused case management, support, and advocacy for program participants, including: 
  • Fair housing and tenant education 
  • Financial fitness and budgeting 
  • Job readiness and employment support 
  • Housing location assistance 
  • Connect clients to available community resources and foster strong relationships with YWCA partners and landlords to ensure access to housing and supportive services. 
  • Adhere to administrative and record-keeping guidelines to meet contract, financial, and agency compliance requirements. 
  • Attend agency, department, interagency, and networking meetings as appropriate to support collaboration and program visibility. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiar with trauma informed care, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Active driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Understanding of racial equity and social justice issues and a demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of those we serve.
  • Responsive to the needs and requests of clients, residents, staff and Board of Directors with a willingness to collaborate and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively and appropriately verbally and in writing demonstrating teamwork and collaboration.
  • Mission Understanding: Demonstrated understanding and commitment to YWCA USA and YWCA Dayton' s mission, vision, history, and programs, demonstrated core values. Must be sensitive to the needs of families in crisis demonstrating empathy and compassion with high confidentiality.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability in trauma informed care, crisis response, knowledge of fair housing, low-income housing tax credits, public housing, and HUD regulations, understanding of domestic violence, homelessness, and residential setting, delivering exceptional customer service; demonstrate good computer skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform crisis intervention.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  •  Minimum of 2 years housing and homeless services, working in a housing residential environment, domestic violence shelter, social work, human services experience; associate's degree in human services business administration, or related field preferred; 4 plus years non-profit, housing, domestic violence shelter, social work experience in lieu of degree.
