Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linens

โ€ข Assist with dressing, toileting, and mobility needs

โ€ข Plan and prepare nutritious meals; assist with feeding as needed

โ€ข Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) when ordered

โ€ข Perform range of motion exercises and simple therapy procedures as instructed

โ€ข Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse

โ€ข Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients

โ€ข Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families

โ€ข Provide respite care for family/caregivers when appropriate

โ€ข Participate in care planning, team meetings, and quality improvement activities

โ€ข Adhere to documentation standards and professional conduct guidelines

Requirements

โ€ข Current CNA certification and successful completion of state-approved training and competency evaluation

โ€ข At least 18 years of age

โ€ข Ability to read and follow written instructions and document the care provided

โ€ข Comfortable providing specialized care to terminally ill patients, understands hospice philosophy

โ€ข Empathy, tact, patience, and strong communication skills

โ€ข Current CPR certification

โ€ข Valid driverโ€™s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation for agency-related travel

โ€ข Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
