Job description

The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice.
Overview:
The Activity Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Program Manager in the coordinating and implementing of the comprehensive activity-based afterschool enrichment and academic assistance program. They assist with the direct implementation and development of program services. The Activity Coordinator offers support to staff who provide youth with tutoring services, activities, and trainings.
Schedule: Part time, 17.5 hours per week. 10-month position, generally September- June. Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 6:30pm
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the coordination of scheduling and programming at designated school sites
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with funder and agency requirements
  • Assist in the coordination of development and implementation of services delivered during the afterschool program
  • Assists in the oversight of the daily operations of the program
  • Facilitate partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to the students and families
  • Assist in the implementation of procedures and policies for operation of the after-school program
  • Establish and maintain communication with members of the school staff about student needs and aspects of the afterschool program

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field OR Equivalent combination

  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management
  • Group facilitation and student/ classroom management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office

Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour
