The Ocean Community YMCA is looking for an energetic and experienced Gymnastics Coordinator to lead and grow our recreational and competitive gymnastics programs. This position blends hands-on coaching with program leadership, staff development, safety, and family engagement—all while creating a positive environment where kids can build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of gymnastics.

Location: Westerly-Pawcatuck YMCA, Westerly, RI

Classification: Full-Time, exempt

Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 per year

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead high-quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programming
  • Coach and support our competitive Gymnastics Team
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor gymnastics staff
  • Develop engaging programs that grow participation and retention
  • Coordinate meets, competitions, and special events
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming gymnastics environment
  • Build strong relationships with athletes, families, and community partners

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of gymnastics experience
  • Working knowledge of gymnastics skills and spotting techniques for beginner, intermediate, and advanced competitive levels
  • Gymnastics safety certification required within 6 months of employment
  • CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to create a positive, safe, and engaging environment for athletes, staff, and families
