Job description

1st shift hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

POSITION OBJECTIVE: A Rasmussen Yard Worker plays a vital role in ensuring equipment is prepared to the highest standards for customer delivery while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient yard. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Yard Workers take pride in their work, collaborate effectively with other team members to achieve shared goals, demonstrate integrity in all tasks, and consistently follow safe work practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently use appropriate PPE for all tasks to maintain a safe work environment
  • Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently to move materials and equipment
  • Communicate progress, updates, and issues clearly with supervisors on a regular basis
  • Clean, inspect and perform basic repairs on marine equipment/rental equipment
  • Apply paint to marine equipment using sprayers and rollers to ensure quality finishes
  • Operate a variety of motorized tools and equipment, including power tools, saws, hammers, and impact drivers
  • Prepare and stage equipment for loading and transport
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe equipment yard
  • Load and unload equipment and materials onto trucks with care and efficiency
  • Operate pressure washers to clean equipment and work areas
  • Maintain wash pad and associated equipment in proper working condition
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands to handle and grip objects
  • Balance, bend and reach with hands and arms and operate foot controls as needed
  • Occasionally climb ladders, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and crawling.
  • This role also requires the ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
