Job description

OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a full-time Yard Hand based out of our location in Calmar, Alberta.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods of time
  • Ability to take direction with assisting other employees in various tasks as requested
  • Ability to communicate well and perform physically demanding work
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily working in the yard
  • Moving material in an organized fashion
  • Handling materials within the shop and outdoors
  • Preparing or assisting with parts to be welded
  • Assist in moving bins and dumping bins
  • Assisting welders and mechanics with miscellaneous duties as requested
  • Operating of basic hand tools and powered hand tools
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times
  • Pressure washing trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Other duties as required
