Opportunity


Overview

The objective of this position is to provide logistics support services to supplement the NSWG-1 LOGSU-1 workforces and help it achieve continued effective operations and sustain adequate logistics support to NSWG1. The Transportation Equipment Yard Boss will report to LOGSU-1โ€™s Transportation Divisionโ€™s Dispatch Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) and Leading Petty Officer (LPO) with day-to-day operations of the equipment/vehicle yard as listed below.


Security Requirement:

ยท Must maintain a SECRET clearance.


Roles and Responsibilities:

ยท Ensure the proper check-out/in of Government vehicles, parking arrangements, and overall customer service to support NSW commands.

ยท Set up and secure wash rack area daily.

ยท Inspect vehicles for turn in/re-trip. Complete a 360-degree walk around thoroughly checking the exterior, interior, and under the vehicle. Check all compartments including under and in-between seats.

ยท Maintain vehicles and yards and conduct daily rounds of yards. Ensure vehicles are in the designated parking areas. Check for trash inside and around vehicles, secure windows and doors, and ensure vehicle tires are not flat. Cycle and clean vehicles that have not been operated during the week.

ยท Clean out the wash rack collection pit and fuel water separator once every two months. Order wash rack supplies and cleaning gear.

ยท Facilitate collateral equipment check-in/out. Organize collateral container and cage daily. Inventory all collateral monthly, including toolbox.

ยท Inspect vehicles from the garage (maintenance shop) for cleanliness and fuel level.

Requirements:

ยท Must possess a Commercial Driverโ€™s License.

ยท Must maintain a forklift license.

ยท Be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software programs. Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

ยท Have direct knowledge of installation level and strategic support logistic programs and systems that relate to logistic capability and capacity.

ยท Pay strong attention to detail and be highly accurate in performing all tasks.

ยท Perform duties independently, with minimal oversight.

ยท Be able to write correspondence in a military format, when necessary.
