WyoTech is Seeking Welders and Metal fabricators who are looking to become technical instructors at WyoTech, a premier technical trade school located in Laramie, WY. No teaching experience required, but helpful. This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional to expand his or her career through training tomorrow's Welders and Fabricators. The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become proficient in learning/utilizing the grading software
  • Work with students not only in the classroom, but the hands-on portion in the shop
  • Be responsible for lecturing on hands-on related materials

Associated Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Must always be able to exercise discernment in safe equipment operations
  • Advanced ability to work independently and communicate clearly
  • Must be able to organize and demonstrate initiative
  • Must be able to do basic math, including fractions, for accurate measuring and cutting of metal
  • Must have the aptitude to learn, or knowledge of operating welding shop equipment, to include more complex computerized equipment such as the plasma table and the bug-o pipe cutter
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good hand-eye coordination and steady hands
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods
  • Sharp eyesight is required to ensure precision in measuring and cutting tasks
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to recognize potential hazards and take preventive measures
Requirements:

Minimum Requirement (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying):

  • Minimum of 7 yearsโ€™ work experience in the Welding and Fabricating industry
  • Course and Curriculum development, project development, and project management
  • Must be proficient in SMAW GMAW, FCAW, GTAW
  • Must have experience in Custom Fabrication, Reading Blueprints, Cutting Techniques, and CNC usage
  • Positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to pick up on software used in an educational environment and be able to efficiently use computers
  • AWS, API, CIC, etc. certifications or other industry certifications are a plus
