WyoTech is seeking experienced motorsports chassis fabricators to join our team as instructors at our Laramie, WY campus. This is a unique opportunity for skilled professionals who are ready to mentor and teach the next generation of technicians. No prior teaching experience is required, just a passion for your craft and a desire to share it. Instructors work alongside Lead Instructors and may also teach independently. Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet state certification, regulatory agencies, and accrediting body requirements, including but not limited to:

  • 5+ years of experience in the high-performance automotive industry, with a focus on restoration, customization, and chassis fabrication
  • Proven expertise in precision welding, including both MIG and TIG techniques, applied in motorsports or custom builds
  • Strong working knowledge of suspension systems, steering geometry, tubular frame construction, and overall chassis design
  • Tech-savvy and computer proficient, with the ability to quickly adapt to industry-specific software used in an educational or technical setting
  • Hands-on experience with classic vehicles, custom trucks, race cars, or other performance-focused builds
  • Advanced skills in metal shaping, fabrication, minor machining, and working with a variety of metals and materials
  • A collaborative mindset with a positive, team-oriented attitude in a shop-floor environment
  • Willingness and ability to learn and apply software tools related to chassis design, blueprint interpretation, or fabrication planning
  • Industry certifications (such as ASE) are a plus and demonstrate commitment to craftsmanship and continuous improvement
Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and ensure the enforcement of WyoTech policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook; Advise students on attendance, grades, professionalism, and personal problems to ensure completion of their career program
  • Submit grades, tests, attendance, and all other material; Plan class instruction based on the syllabus and ensure learning objectives are met. Ensure all educational activity is conducted ethically and legally; Utilize the CANVAS LMS system
  • Support EPA and safety procedures; Encourage students to do safe, quality work with safety precautions
  • Maintain and attend to the repair, as necessary, of class equipment and tool inventory
  • Attend scheduled instructor meetings, graduation, and registration; Participate in curriculum and professional development; Communicate effectively with all WyoTech faculty and staff
  • Encourage motivation and enthusiasm in the shop and classroom; Develop a professional rapport with the students
  • Prepare adequately for class and shop before start time; Have supplemental teaching items ready; Provide appropriate information, resources, and assignments for a lesson; Provide peer tutors as needed
  • Monitor class; Remain in control of the class throughout the classroom lesson and in the shop
  • Follow ADA Requirements
  • Be available for students 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the scheduled class time
  • Always maintain security on all tests and lesson plans; Always maintain confidentiality
