Job description

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and repairing trailers, with a strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance standards. This role is critical in ensuring our fleet is maintained to meet both regulatory and company preventative maintenance (PM) standards, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers to meet company PM standards.Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on trailers.Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet DOT compliance regulations.Inspect and maintain critical components, including brakes, tires, axles, and hubs.Test and troubleshoot electrical and lighting systems to ensure functionality.Compile detailed maintenance records, repair logs, and inspection reports.Work closely with management to ensure timely repairs and fleet readiness.Stay updated on DOT regulations and company PM protocols.Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to minimize fleet downtime.Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good condition.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.Minimum of 1 year of experience as a trailer mechanic or in a related field.Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards.Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and protocols.Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment effectively.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.Physical ability to lift heavy objects, crouch, and stand for extended periods.BenefitsMcDonald Companies offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:Medical insurance with approximately 80% of premium costs covered.401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match.80 hours of paid time off starting on the first day of employment.Ten paid holidays (paid at overtime rates when applicable).Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).Dental, vision, and company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.Company-paid household gym membership.Annual allowance of up to $300 for work boots and winter gear.Company-provided high-visibility safety apparel.Monthly cell phone stipend for work-related applications.Why Join WSW Logistics?WSW Logistics offers the stability of a long-standing, family-owned organization combined with a modern, employee-focused work culture.
