What You Bring:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Experience:
• Three (3) years of experience in grants writing, research, reports, and project management.
• Two (2) years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including direct experience preparing grant proposals and
grant reports.
• Demonstrated strong persuasive writing and excellent editing skills.
Preferred Experience:
• Ability to synthesize information from various sources to create a unified tone in a variety of writing
assignments.
• Familiarity with research platforms and databases

Working Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. Some outreach and off-site activities will be held in other locations, as requested. Must maintain personal cellphone for work-related purposes. Working conditions may include possible exposure to communicable diseases related to those typically found in social services settings. Incumbent must reside in California and within a 75-mile radius of the City of San Diego.
Ability to work in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and stalking fields.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully
perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with
hands and arms. Must be able to carry up to 20lbs.
Travel:
Some travel may be required (up to 15%, mostly within San Diego County). Must have consistent and reliable
transportation available for work-related purposes.
Work Hours:
The employee must be available during Agency working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and must work 30 hours each
week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Hybrid schedule eligible. Typically 2 days in person, 3 days remote contingent on operational needs.Â
