Shift Information

This position requires flexibility within shift patterns, particularly during the evening and overnight hours. Must be able to work any day of the week and be able to adapt to schedule changes to align with business needs. Please understand that we are only accepting applications for those able to work a night shift schedule.

The role

This position efficientlyoperatesassigned equipment to produce products at prescribed standards; minimize material waste and product loss. The position also oversees all aspects of line function. The range of Operator roles varies between categories and technologies, butgenerally sitswithin the Filling, Forklift and Material Transfer, Mixer, Packing, Reporting, Shaping and Water Machinery Job Families.

The Machine Operatoris responsible forthe safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to quality standards and maximizing cost effectiveness,optimalrunning, and equipment efficiency. They are expected to carry out cleaning and inspection activities and record any issues/problems with the equipment to pass to the Technical Operator to resolve. They willbe requiredto champion specific skills and coach others.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Set up machine for production including assembling freezers and various parts of machine, assemble necessary ingredients, sanitize lines, and adjust machine to formula specifications.

  • Monitor equipment for malfunctions, solve minor problems withoutassistanceandeliminatepotential threats to production. Communicate effectively with Production Lead, Supervisors and maintenance personnelregardingrecurring problems and needs for repair. Take part in AM's andPM's. Follow lubrication programs andmaintainlubelog.

  • Oversee all operations at the workstation including responsibilities of the Wrapper Operators and Handpackers. Work effectively with Wrapper operators and Handpackers to ensure smooth operation ofline. Help work in tubs fromfreezer. Report any problems to Supervisors.

  • Functionasneeded in various capacities, including moving supplies and discard, filling in for Wrapper Operators and Handpackers as necessary and other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge and application of technical skills tooperatemachinery safely and effectively to meet the production plan. Conduct cleaning and lubrication asrequired.

  • Carry out product and process changeovers/washouts tomaintainquality standards whilst minimizing the impact to the production plan.

  • Possesses an awareness of the principals of mechanism, motion, and pneumatics.

  • Train other operators and share knowledge whenrequired.

  • May berequiredto use ariel lifts multiple times per shift.

  • May berequiredto present projects to staff members.

We're looking for someone who

  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude through experience working on machinery on satisfactory completion of technical/shop courses.
  • Able to achieve a passing score on a proctored skills assessment conducted onsite is required before the final interview.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to learn all functions of the job within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and to keep accurate written records.
  • Ability to work various hours and shifts (i.e., 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts) as needed.
  • Able to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds several times per hour.
  • Values collaboration, clarity and low-ego ways of working

Working environment

  • Variable, consisting of the office environment, the mix room, and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
  • In addition, there will be exposure to allergens such as dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean and cinnamon. There will also be exposure to chemicals and gasses such as ammonia.
