Metal Works Senior Project Manager โ€“ Lead End-to-End Metal Works Projects from Estimation to Completion


Job Overview

The Opportunity You will serve as a high-impact leader at Presidio Custom Metal Works, taking full ownership of diverse metal, fencing, and railing projects from the initial bid to the final walkthrough. This role offers the autonomy to manage significant accounts and the potential for exponential career growth as you help scale our operations. You will be a vital link between our customers and production teams, ensuring every installation meets our rigorous standards for quality and profitability.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Drive company profitability by generating precise material takeoffs and estimates with a minimum 40% profit margin.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with commercial and industrial clients to build a sustainable project pipeline.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with shop and field crews to ensure fabrication and installation align with project specifications.
  • Execute comprehensive project setups, including the management of purchase orders, submittals, and shop tickets via Contractor Foreman.
  • Supervise on-site progress through regular site visits to resolve technical obstacles and ensure strict adherence to timelines.
  • Manage the full financial lifecycle of each job, from securing deposits to executing change orders and following up on final payments.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing technical expertise in misc. metals and specialized shade structures.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, specifically within the commercial sector.
  • Proven track record in estimation and the ability to interpret complex architectural plans and specifications.
  • Strong self-starter mentality with a demonstrated ability to "own" a project lifecycle without constant oversight.
  • Experience in business development and the ability to effectively grow a professional customer base.
  • Proficiency in project management software and digital documentation (e.g., QuickBooks, Contractor Foreman, or Dropbox).

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Specialized knowledge in miscellaneous metals, fencing, railings, or shade structures.
  • Background in managing prevailing wage projects and federal or government contracts.
  • Previous experience in a role requiring direct quality control of shop fabrication and field installations.
