Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of Microfinish operations. This position directs production, personnel, process development, maintenance, safety, and operational improvement activities while ensuring compliance with quality, customer, and regulatory requirements. The Operations Manager serves as a member of the leadership team and reports directly to the Senior Regional VP.


Responsibilities

  • Assist leadership in developing and executing strategic and annual operating plans.
  • Direct all operations, production scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Lead recruitment, training, development, and performance management of personnel.
  • Coordinate with Quality Management to maintain training programs, competency requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in quotation reviews, contract reviews, and change management activities to assess operational capacity, resources, and risks.
  • Lead process development, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of work instructions, process routings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Partner with Quality Management to support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO and AS standards.
  • Direct preventive maintenance, facilities management, and equipment reliability programs.
  • Lead workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
  • Monitor production performance, labor utilization, delivery performance, and customer program profitability.
  • Support customer service, audits, customer visits, and special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of related manufacturing leadership experience; or ten years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience.
  • Management experience in manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, manufacturing systems, maintenance programs, and performance measurement.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and operational planning.
  • Familiarity with ISO, AS, and OSHA requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of operations management experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with AS9100 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 6S initiatives.
