Job description

We are Progress (Nasdaq: PRGS) - the trusted provider of software that enables our customers to develop, deploy and manage responsible, AI-powered applications and experiences with agility and ease.
We're proud to have a diverse, global team where we value the individual and enrich our culture by considering varied perspectives because we believe people power progress. Join us as a Senior Technical Business Systems Analyst and help us do what we do best: propelling business forward.
This will be a hybrid role working between your home office and either our Raleigh NC or Burlington MA headquarters. Candidates must be local to one of those offices at time of application to be considered.

We're looking for a Senior Technical Salesforce Business Systems Analyst to join our Enterprise Applications and Data team. In this role, you will partner closely with roles across Enterprise Applications and business stakeholders to analyze, design, and implement effective solutions on the Salesforce platform. You'll work across production support, enhancements, and projects - turning business problems into elegant, maintainable Salesforce solutions. You'll serve as a primary resource responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing Salesforce solutions within the Lead-to-Opportunity Agile Release Team, supporting Account and Contact management, Lead and Opportunity processes, related objects, and associated workflows.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused primarily on configuration-led delivery rather than heavy custom code. Familiarity with Apex, LWC, and Visualforce is a strong plus, but the day-to-day work centers on declarative tools, thoughtful design, and strong business partnership

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to deeply understand business processes, pain points, and goals.
  • Analyze, design, and implement Salesforce solutions - primarily through configuration (Flows, Lightning, security model, data model, validation rules) - and through code where appropriate.
  • Document current- and future-state workflows, solution designs, and decision rationale to a level the team can rely on as the source of truth.
  • Triage and resolve production support issues with appropriate urgency, root-cause analysis, and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Deliver enhancement requests and project work end-to-end: requirements clarification, technical design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare.
  • Contribute meaningfully to release planning, sizing, prioritization, and risk identification across sprints and quarterly cycles.
  • Use AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate analysis, configuration, documentation, coding, and code review.
  • Configure and extend Salesforce AgentForce and/or Einstein capabilities to deliver business value where it fits.
  • Maintain healthy technical practices: version control, sandbox hygiene, deployment discipline, peer reviews, and adherence to org governance.
  • Coach and uplift more junior analysts and developers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform day-to-day Salesforce administration activities, typically related to release management, security/permissions, system monitoring and maintenance.
  • Assist with Salesforce deployments and configuration as part of DevOps lifecycle
Your background:
  • Minimum 4+ years in a technical Salesforce role (Business Systems Analyst, Salesforce Developer/Admin hybrid, or similar) in an enterprise or growth-stage SaaS environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience designing and implementing solutions to support pre-sales marketing and sales business processes (Lead to Opportunity processes). Sales Cloud configuration experience is a must.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Salesforce configuration: Flows, Lightning App Builder, security model, profiles/permission sets, custom objects/fields, validation rules, page layouts, Experience Cloud, and reports/dashboards.
  • Experience working with territory management processes and configuring in Salesforce; experience with Salesforce Territory Management desired.
  • Working knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and SOQL - sufficient to read, debug, and reason about existing code. Ability to write production-quality code is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with adjacent systems (e.g., billing, marketing automation, data warehouses, ERP) via standard integration patterns and tooling.
  • Practical, demonstrable experience using AI tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent) to increase delivery productivity and quality.
  • Experience configuring AgentForce and/or Salesforce Einstein features is strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery, release management, and ALM practices (sandboxes, change sets, SFDX, CI/CD, Copado, Jira, Confluence).
  • Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform App Builder, Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer I, Business Analyst, Sales Cloud Consultant) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with source control and DevOps best practices are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Base Salary Range: $99,365 - $122,745
This position is also eligible to participate in our performance-based annual corporate bonus plan. Final base compensation is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, education, demonstrable experience, and allowance for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a robust benefits package, with details below.

If this sounds like you and fits your experience and career goals, we'd be happy to chat.

What we offer in return is the opportunity to experience a great company culture with wonderful colleagues to learn from and collaborate with and also to enjoy:

  • Medical, dental, vision, life & disability, and financial benefits (including 401(k) retirement savings plan. Tuition Reimbursement program. Additional voluntary benefits including crucial illness/hospital indemnity, identity theft protection, auto & home insurance, legal, and pet insurance.
  • Competitive salary, bonus, and best-in-class Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) with a 27-month lookback
