Job description

Make an immediate impact as a school-based Social Worker serving local students in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Two full-time contract opportunities are open to help young people thrive academically, emotionally, and socially at key educational sites near Uniontown, PA. These roles are onsite and provide a chance to engage deeply with students and multidisciplinary teams.

Available assignments include:

  • Position 1: Located at a campus offering emotional support programs and a partial hospitalization program, with coverage needed from now through June 2027 (dates subject to change).
  • Position 2: Long-term substitute assignment in a district setting, running from October 2026 through the end of January 2027 (exact dates TBD).

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A master’s degree in social work or a closely related field
  • Valid Pennsylvania State License
  • PDE Educational Specialist Certification
  • Previous experience working in school settings, supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and external service providers
  • Adaptability to respond to crisis situations and provide counseling, resources, and advocacy
  • Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students of varied backgrounds

In this role, you will:

  • Provide direct social work support and counseling to students and families
  • Implement and monitor individualized plans in coordination with school teams
  • Connect students and families to appropriate resources within the community
  • Advocate for student needs to promote academic, social, and emotional well-being
  • Support emotional support programs and/or provide substitute coverage as assigned
  • Maintain accurate documentation as required
