Job DescriptionMaintenance Worker / Maintenance TechnicianPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This role supports the Maintenance Supervisor by completing preventative maintenance (PMs), responding to maintenance work orders, and performing repairs such as painting, basic plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep to maintain the hotel's appearance, safety, and functionality.
Reporting StructureReports to: Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Supervisor
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork OrdersRespond to and complete assigned maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Perform repairs in guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Document completion of work orders and communicate any additional repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Room Preventative Maintenance (PM)PaintingPerform interior painting throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces.
Prepare surfaces for painting including patching, sanding, and minor drywall repair.
Maintain consistent paint quality and appearance in accordance with hotel standards.
General MaintenancePerform routine maintenance and repair tasks including:
Basic plumbing repairs (toilets, sinks, faucets)
Electrical repairs (light fixtures, outlets, switches)
Minor carpentry
Door and lock repairs
Furniture and fixture repairs
Equipment maintenance
Guest Service SupportSafetyFollow all hotel safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Use proper tools and safety equipment when performing maintenance tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
QualificationsRequired13 years of general maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred).
Ability to perform guest room preventative maintenance (PMs).
Experience with painting and surface preparation.
Ability to complete maintenance work orders efficiently.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
Ability to work in guest rooms, mechanical areas, and public spaces.
PreferredHotel maintenance experience.
Knowledge of hotel preventative maintenance programs.
Familiarity with maintenance tracking or work order systems.
