Job description

Build the Team That Delivers Exceptional Care
We believe great care starts with great caregivers.
We're looking for a strategic, data-driven Director of Workforce to lead every aspect of our caregiver workforceโ€”from recruiting and hiring to onboarding, engagement, retention, and workforce planning. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring we always have the right caregivers, in the right places, at the right time to serve our clients.
If you're energized by solving complex staffing challenges, leading high-performing teams, using data to drive decisions, and building systems that scale, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
As Director of Workforce, you'll lead the strategy and execution behind one of our most important assetsโ€”our caregiver workforce.
You'll oversee recruiting, onboarding, retention, employee engagement, workforce planning, and caregiver experience while partnering closely with Operations and Care Coordination to ensure staffing keeps pace with client growth.
This is not a traditional HR position. It is a highly operational leadership role focused on building and sustaining a reliable workforce that enables exceptional client care.
What You'll Do
Lead Workforce Strategy
  • Forecast hiring needs based on growth and client demand
  • Build workforce plans by geography and service line
  • Develop strategies to ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Create scalable systems that support continued growth
Lead Recruiting
  • Manage and coach the recruiting team
  • Establish weekly hiring goals and accountability
  • Improve applicant conversion rates
  • Reduce time-to-hire and cost-per-hire
  • Optimize recruiting channels and sourcing strategies
Improve Onboarding
  • Streamline the journey from application to first shift
  • Ensure compliance requirements are completed efficiently
  • Reduce time-to-productivity for new caregivers
  • Deliver an exceptional onboarding experience
Drive Caregiver Retention
  • Develop initiatives that improve employee engagement
  • Reduce turnover through proactive coaching and recognition
  • Build referral and recognition programs
  • Conduct stay interviews and analyze retention trends
  • Foster a culture where caregivers feel valued and supported
Use Data to Improve Performance
Own and report key workforce metrics, including:
  • Time-to-hire
  • Applicant conversion
  • Caregiver retention
  • Active caregiver count
  • Open shifts
  • Fill rate
  • Workforce utilization
  • Recruiting ROI
  • Caregiver engagement
Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
Collaborate Across Departments
Partner with:
  • Operations
  • Care Coordination
  • Executive Leadership
to ensure workforce capacity supports agency growth and outstanding client service.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
  • Five or more years of leadership experience
  • Three or more years leading recruiting, staffing, or workforce teams
  • Experience managing managers or multiple functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven success improving recruiting or retention metrics
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Comfortable using technology and workforce data to make decisions
Preferred Experience
  • Home care
  • Healthcare staffing
  • Home health
  • Hospice
  • Multi-site workforce management
  • Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • HRIS platforms
  • Scheduling software
  • Workforce analytics tools
  • AI-enabled recruiting technologies
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will:
  • Build a predictable hiring pipeline that supports agency growth
  • Reduce application-to-first-shift time
  • Improve caregiver retention
  • Increase recruiter productivity
  • Maintain staffing levels that support excellent client fill rates
  • Implement workforce dashboards that drive better operational decisions
  • Strengthen caregiver engagement and satisfaction
Why Join Us?
You'll join a growing organization where leadership is committed to innovation, technology, and building an outstanding workplace for caregivers.
You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Build and lead a high-performing workforce team
  • Influence executive strategy
  • Implement modern recruiting and workforce technologies
  • Make a measurable impact on both employee experience and client care
  • Help shape the future of one of the region's leading home care providers
Compensation amp; Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth.
Ready to Make an Impact?
If you're a strategic leader who enjoys building teams, improving systems, and solving workforce challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and help us build the workforce that makes exceptional care possible.
