Job description

Job Title: SIOP Planning Manager Location: Sunnyvale, CA Type: 5 month contract (potential for extension/conversion) Compensation: $77-83/hour, depending on qualifications Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite 3 days Hours: 40

Overview The SIOP Planning Manager leads demand and supply planning activities within a complex manufacturing and supply chain environment. This role leverages advanced analytics, forecasting models, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize inventory, balance supply and demand, and drive operational and financial performance across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead demand and supply planning activities within a complex manufacturing and supply chain environment.
  • Leverage advanced analytics, forecasting models, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize inventory, balance supply and demand, and drive operational and financial performance.
  • Manage the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to develop accurate demand and supply plans.
  • Build and maintain analytical models for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, capacity planning, and supply planning.
  • Translate demand and supply plans into financial impacts including revenue, margin, inventory, and working capital performance.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to develop monthly, quarterly, and long-range forecasts.
  • Develop scenario plans to evaluate demand and supply risks, trade-offs, and mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze historical shipments, consumption trends, and product segmentation data to improve forecast accuracy and inventory performance.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), product lifecycle planning, and end-of-life (EOL) strategies through cross-functional coordination.
  • Manage inventory targets, safety stock strategies, and regional supply requirements to support customer demand and operational objectives.
  • Develop constrained capacity and material build plans based on manufacturing capabilities, line efficiencies, labor, and material availability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including forecast accuracy, OTIF, inventory attainment, backorders, and fill rates while driving corrective actions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional SIOP meetings and present planning data, business insights, and recommendations to leadership teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve MPS/MRP planning issues and support system implementations, testing, and process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, process standardization, and profitability enhancement.

Requirements

  • MS/MBA with 6+ years of relevant experience or BS degree with 8+ years of relevant supply chain or planning experience.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, Math, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong manufacturing, supply chain, and SIOP planning experience.
  • Advanced analytical, data modeling, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply planning methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, material constraints, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience supporting product lifecycle management including new product introductions and end-of-life planning.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP and advanced planning systems such as SAP, IBP, Oracle, O9, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading cross-functional planning initiatives in regulated or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with statistical forecasting models and forecasting accuracy improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of MPS/MRP processes, testing, and system go-live support.
