Position : Labor Management / Workforce Planning Consultant (LMS Consultant)

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor Management / Workforce Planning Consultant to support the design and implementation of enterprise labor planning and workforce optimization strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in labor forecasting, workforce planning, labor management systems (LMS), and supply chain operations. This role will partner with business leaders to develop scalable labor planning frameworks, staffing models, and workforce optimization initiatives across distribution centers, warehouse, transportation, and shared services operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess current labor planning and workforce management processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Design and implement labor forecasting models using historical data, demand patterns, seasonality, customer service requirements, and operational constraints.
  • Develop dynamic workforce planning methodologies for Distribution Centers (DCs), warehouse operations, transportation, and shared service organizations.
  • Define labor standards, engineered labor standards (ELS), and productivity benchmarks.
  • Establish workforce capacity planning processes and demand-to-capacity planning frameworks.
  • Develop staffing models and labor budgeting recommendations based on operational requirements.
  • Create labor planning governance models, operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Analyze workforce performance and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Define and monitor labor KPIs to measure productivity, utilization, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders to drive workforce optimization initiatives.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and implementation plans to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in labor management, workforce planning, supply chain consulting, or operations optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more Labor Management Systems (LMS), including:
    • Manhattan Labor Management (Preferred)
    • Blue Yonder Labor Management
    • UKG Workforce Management
    • Kronos
    • Reflexis
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Labor Forecasting
    • Workforce Planning
    • Engineered Labor Standards (ELS)
    • Labor Standards

    • Capacity Planning
  • Experience supporting logistics, distribution centers, warehousing, retail, or transportation operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Consulting experience in supply chain or workforce transformation initiatives.
