How does a Workforce Disruption RN typically collaborate with other departments during organizational changes or crises?

A Workforce Disruption RN often works closely with HR, management, and clinical teams to ensure continuity of patient care during periods of staffing shortages, organizational restructuring, or crises such as strikes or emergencies. This role requires strong communication skills to coordinate schedules, provide patient updates, and implement contingency plans. What are Workforce Disruption RNs?

Workforce Disruption RNs are registered nurses who provide temporary clinical support to healthcare facilities experiencing staffing shortages due to strikes, labor disputes, or other disruptions. These nurses are typically assigned on short notice and may work in various settings, such as hospitals or long-term care facilities. Their primary role is to ensure that patient care continues safely and effectively during periods when regular staff are unavailable. Workforce Disruption RNs must quickly adapt to new environments and work collaboratively with existing teams.
