Job description

Position Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
Location: Granite City, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract / Agency Placement
Bill Rate: $80–$90 per hour

Position Overview:
ISO Workforce Alliance is currently seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in the state of Illinois with a minimum of two years of operating room experience. This role is ideal for a highly skilled perioperative nurse who is comfortable working in fast-paced surgical environments and assisting surgeons across a variety of procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and surgical care.

Key Responsibilities:

Function as a Registered Nurse First Assistant during surgical procedures

Provide direct surgical assistance to the operating surgeon including tissue handling, suturing, and maintaining hemostasis

Assist with preoperative patient preparation, intraoperative procedures, and postoperative patient care

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and operating room staff to support efficient surgical workflow

Ensure adherence to hospital policies, surgical protocols, and infection control standards

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of surgical procedures and patient care

Required Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois

Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience

Current BLS and ACLS certification

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative patient care

Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills

Preferred Experience:

Experience assisting in General Surgery

Experience assisting in Orthopedic Surgery

Experience assisting in Endoscopic procedures

Experience working in high-volume surgical environments
