The Children's Trust is seeking a Trainer Development and Quality Specialist (Training Program Coordinator II) to join our team of dedicated staff.
The Trainer Development and Quality Specialist plays a key role in strengthening the capacity, quality, and effectiveness of the family support workforce across Massachusetts to advance child abuse and neglect prevention. This position designs, delivers, evaluates, and continuously improves trainer development, workforce development, and quality assurance initiatives that equip trainers and family support professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed services to children and families.
Working under the Training Institute Director of Content, this position implements comprehensive trainer development, evaluation, coaching, mentoring, and quality improvement systems that support trainer excellence and promote consistency, fidelity, and innovation in training delivery. The Trainer Development and Quality Specialist develops and facilitates engaging learning experiences across multiple delivery formats, creates and updates curricula informed by current research and emerging workforce needs, and uses data and evaluation findings to strengthen training effectiveness and learner outcomes.
This role partners with stakeholders to build workforce capacity, cultivate a diverse and highly skilled trainer network, implement continuous quality improvement strategies, and ensure training programs remain responsive to the evolving needs of the field. The successful candidate is collaborative with expertise in adult learning, instructional design, facilitation, coaching, quality improvement, and data-informed decision-making, and is passionate about advancing equitable, high-quality family support services that improve outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Train the family support workforce in support of statewide child abuse and neglect prevention efforts
Train other trainers to deliver training content to the family support workforce, including training trainers to deliver proprietary content such as FAN
Develop curriculum and facilitate trainings in a variety of modalities (virtual, in-person, asynchronous, and/or recorded) that are responsive to the needs in the field and meet applicable model requirements
Create learning environments that encourage active participation, meet the diverse needs of learners, including delivering training in Spanish, if applicable, and foster deep learner engagement
Facilitate the trainer mentor program to develop trainer candidates from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
Conduct competency-based observations of trainers with written evaluations and feedback
Stay current on the latest research on child abuse and neglect prevention, adult learning, training design and delivery, and content; integrate learnings to continually improve training modules
Implement an agency wide system for trainer quality assurance and quality improvement
Conduct onboarding and orientation of new trainers
Create, host and/or facilitate networking opportunities for trainers
Develop training objectives, competencies, and measures
Create and update curriculum (including train the trainer curriculum), materials and resources based on trends in the field, updated research, needs of the learners, and to incorporate innovate methods for training integration after training is complete, etc.
Develop and implement processes to assess training effectiveness, participant experience, learner engagement, and emerging training needs through surveys, assessments, feedback collection, and other evaluation methods.
Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, measure outcomes, support continuous quality improvement, and inform Training Institute, programmatic, and agency decision-making.
Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, share findings, and support alignment between training activities, workforce needs, program implementation, evaluation efforts, and strategic priorities.
Represent the Children's Trust on advisory councils and workgroups, as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Experience facilitating trainer certification and/or train the trainer processes
Experience participating in trainer certification processes
Experience delivering training to participants with a diverse range of experience and education
Knowledge of child abuse and neglect prevention and/or family support
Advanced knowledge and expertise in working with families with young children
Experience developing training curriculum and materials
Knowledge of adult learning principles
Strengths-based mindset and approach to working with families
Ability to establish positive relationships with diverse stakeholders and staff
Ability to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Ability to prepare and analyze charts, graphs, and tables.
Knowledge of the methods of general report writing.
Ability to understand, explain, apply and follow laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and guidelines
Ability to gather, analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to maintain accurate records.

Association for Infant Mental Health Endorsement preferred
Learning Management System (LMS) and/or instructional design experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Training certification in evidence informed training curricula, including but not limited to Facilitating Attuned Interaction (FAN), Healthy Families America's Foundations for Family Support Core training, and/or other foundational training for evidence-informed family support models preferred
Valid Driver's License and ability to travel within/around Massachusetts required.
