Job Purpose

The Director of Career & Technical Education (CTE) provides leadership, oversight, and implementation support for Oakmont Education's Career Technical Education programs across all schools. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality program implementation, credential attainment, compliance, workforce alignment, and continuous improvement of CTE pathways.

The Director serves as the bridge between strategic CTE development and school-level execution, ensuring that programs are implemented with fidelity while supporting school leaders, instructors, and CTE staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary job duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation of all Oakmont CTE pathways across schools.
  • Ensure consistency and fidelity of program delivery.
  • Increase industry credential attainment and workforce outcomes.
  • Support School Directors, instructors, and CTE staff. Manage school Youthbuild Grant Program Directors.
  • Monitor compliance with state CTE requirements.
  • Develop industry and workforce partnerships.
  • Expand work-based learning opportunities.
  • Utilize data to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Must have a passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and for building a strong, mission-driven organization.
  • Commitment to continued personal and professional growth, and a commitment to the company’s mission, vision, and growth.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Has demonstrated ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Deep knowledge of state CTE requirements
  • Charter school and workforce development experience
  • Education Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • State administrative licensure
  • Experience Preferred:
  • Minimum 5 years of educational leadership experience.

This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. The employee may be required to deal with students with behavioral risks.
