Associate Vice President for Admissions
JOB LOCATION:

This is a full-time, on-site position based in downtown Louisville. Some evening and weekend availability is required, as is periodic travel for recruitment activities.
JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Vice President for Admissions provides strategic and operational leadership for all recruitment and admissions functions across Spalding's certificate, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Reporting to the Provost, the AVP will build and execute a comprehensive recruitment strategy that reflects the University's mission, strengthens pipeline development, and supports Spalding's strategic growth goals. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both visionary thinking and a willingness to work alongside the team to get results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement an integrated recruitment strategy across all program levels - certificate, undergraduate, and graduate - aligned with Spalding's strategic plan and mission
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor the admissions team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and student-centeredness
  • Establish and monitor recruitment goals, key performance indicators, and data-driven recruitment strategies; provide regular reporting to senior leadership
  • Build and sustain robust recruitment pipelines, including partnerships with high schools, community colleges, workforce development programs, employers, and community organizations
  • Oversee the full admissions cycle, from inquiry and application through enrollment and matriculation, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for prospective students
  • Collaborate closely with academic deans, program directors, financial aid, marketing, and student services to align recruitment messaging and support yield efforts
  • Leverage CRM and financial aid leveraging systems to optimize outreach, communication, and conversion strategies
  • Develop targeted recruitment strategies for non-traditional, transfer, adult learner, and graduate populations consistent with Spalding's market position and workforce-aligned programs
  • Represent Spalding at recruitment events, college fairs, community forums, and partner institutions
  • Stay current with trends in higher education enrollment, including demographic shifts, competitor positioning, financial aid strategies, and digital recruitment best practices

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in higher education admissions or enrollment management, with at least three years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding enrollment goals across multiple program types
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using enrollment data and CRM platforms to drive strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the University compellingly to diverse audiences
  • Collaborative leadership style with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams

Preferred:
  • Experience recruiting for health sciences, allied health, or professional graduate programs
  • Familiarity with the Louisville or regional Kentucky higher education market
  • Experience with Slate, Salesforce, or similar enrollment CRM systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven, community-focused higher education
