Job description

Sellers & Associates, LLC (S&A) is seeking a System Administrator to support U.S. Navy training and enterprise information technology environments by administering, securing, and maintaining critical infrastructure that enables mission readiness and modern learning technologies. The successful candidate will manage Windows-based enterprise systems, virtualized environments, cybersecurity compliance, classroom technologies, and learning management infrastructure while ensuring system availability, security, and operational performance in support of Department of Defense (DoD) training initiatives.

Experience Level: MID

Location: Port Hueneme, CA

Travel Allocation: 0% – 10%

Clearance: Secret (Active Secret preferred; ability to obtain and maintain required)

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure supporting enterprise and training environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Administer virtual server and desktop environments using VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and related virtualization technologies.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability to ensure reliable and secure operations.
  • Manage enterprise storage solutions, backup systems, disaster recovery processes, and data restoration activities.
  • Perform routine system patching, vulnerability remediation, and software updates in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), endpoint protection, audit logging, and configuration management.
  • Support enterprise classroom technologies, Learning Management Systems (LMS), media servers, and instructional technology platforms.
  • Support Adobe Captivate publishing, SCORM package deployment, and multimedia production environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, virtualization, and classroom technology issues.
  • Support video conferencing systems, interactive classroom technologies, and digital learning environments.
  • Integrate hardware and software components to ensure reliable system functionality and interoperability.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and technical configuration guides.
  • Support software deployments, system upgrades, technology refresh initiatives, and configuration management activities.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, instructional technology personnel, and program teams to maintain secure, reliable, and effective IT environments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field. An Associate's degree with additional relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience administering enterprise information technology systems.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. Navy information technology environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise classroom technologies, instructional technology systems, or training environments preferred.
  • Must possess at least one of the following certifications:
    • CompTIA Security+
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) (preferred)
  • Must meet applicable DoD 8570/8140 cybersecurity workforce certification requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Azure AD (Entra ID), and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience managing VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, virtual desktops, and virtual machine lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, switching, routing, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience administering enterprise storage solutions, SAN/NAS environments, backup systems, disaster recovery, and data restoration.
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices, including STIG compliance, ACAS familiarity, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, audit logging, and patch management.
  • Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS), SCORM package deployment, Adobe Captivate publishing, classroom technologies, media servers, and video conferencing systems.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, automated software deployment, and configuration management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively support technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy training commands or military education environments.
  • Experience administering SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server fundamentals.

  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure Government.

Salary: $105,000-110,000
